Milos Charters offers a wide selection of self-drive boats for rent including boats that require a valid boating license and boats that do not.

Boats that require a license
For boats that require a license the driver must be at least 21 years old and must hold a valid boating license. This is a legal requirement in Greece and all license documentation must be presented at the time of boat pick-up.

Non-Greek residents should contact their embassy before renting to confirm what documentation is needed and how to obtain it. You may also contact us and we will help guide you and assist you in any way we can. Learn more about the boats that require a license for operation here.

Boats that do not require a boating license
If you do not have a boating license we also offer self-drive boats that do not require one. These are ideal for visitors who want a relaxed day out on the water without extra requirements. Drivers must still be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driving license.

Safety and briefing
All of our boats are equipped with essential safety equipment such as life jackets and a first aid kit and are routinely maintained to ensure safe and reliable operation. Before you depart we provide a thorough briefing on the boat’s operation safety measures and local boating rules and regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

It is important to arrive just before your booking time so the briefing does not eat into your time on the water.

Important note about third-party boat owners
Due to high demand we have added a selection of boats from trusted third-party boat owners with whom we have a long business relationship. Please make sure you fully read each boat listing before booking as it includes vital information such as license requirements deposits included equipment and the specific rental terms for that boat.
